I will be the first to admit that I am a terrible blogger. I'm even worse at actually including pictures. I love reading blogs with pictures, but I'm just too lazy to figure out how to post the right ones and make them look all cute and fit in with the body of the post. Anyways, It's been 3 whole months (almost 4) since I last wrote. I would say a lot has happened, but I'd be lying.
I started a new job. It is exciting! It's not a career, per say, but it is putting me on the right path. I am working at a youth residential treatment facility. I've had a few crazy nights, but I've only gotten punched once so far, and I haven't run away screaming yet....I may have wanted to break down and cry the other night, but that's another story. When it comes down to it, I love my job, and I feel so lucky to be able to work with the girls I work with.
Last month, Sean and I went horseback riding. It was my first time riding a horse (Except for the one time when I sat on the horse and someone led him around by the reigns when I was like 10. That doesn't count). We rode around Antelope Island, and it was amazing. First of, the guide was awesome. He treated us like family and was super nice. We paid for an hour, and rode for an hour and a half. He din't rush us at all, and he talked to us and explained things to us. It was wonderful The Island is so pretty as well! After that day, I am convinced that I was really supposed to grow up on a ranch....if only those two generations had decided that farm life was for them....Oh well. I wouldn't trade the life I have now for anything, really. I loved the feeling of riding out in the open without a care in the world. And then I realized that I have no padding on my backside and soon discovered bruises from the saddle.....Even though it hurt to sit for a week, the bruises were 100% worth it.
That's all of the interesting stuff, so if anyone is reading this, feel free to stop there.
The last several months have been difficult for us. When I say difficult, I mean difficult in the sense that we never get to spend time together. Yes, my new job means we get to spend a little more time together, because my schedule and Sean's schedule are practically the same, but having only one of us in school actually makes it feel like we have less time together. Maybe that's because I have too much free time, and Sean has not enough. Anyways, it makes me a little sad. I am counting down the days until the semester is over. Then Sean and I will be able to go on morning dates and stay up late watching all those movies that came out last year that we still haven't seen. Sean won't be as tired, and he'll have a much needed break. He deserves a break.
I, myself, am having a difficult time with some things. Well, mostly with the same things I've always struggled with. I'm not very patient and I'm not a decision maker, so when I make up my mind about something that isn't entirely in my control, I get frustrated and upset when things don't happen as quickly as I would like. Take my job search, for instance. I was perfectly content with the job I had, and was only passively looking with my eyes set on a specific position. Every day that I didn't get a call, I got more and more discouraged. I knew that I was supposed to be working somewhere else, I had made that decision. I just didn't understand why It took so long to happen or me. That's how most things happen for me though, and I'm slowly learning that it's okay for things to take longer to happen. I frequently have to remind myself that the Lord is making sure that the situation is exactly right for what I need. A little sooner or later, and things wouldn't work out as well.
All that said, life is great. Sean and I both have steady jobs and are able to earn enough that we can pay our bills, have a little fun and still put some away for tuition. (I feel like I'm being robbed every time I have to write THAT check. Seriously, you pay at least $1,000 to sit in 3 hours worth of classes for 4 months. Then you have to buy books.) We are also able to spend time with family. It's kind of crazy, and every weekend is booked, but we get to spend an evening with both sides of our family at least once a month, which is a lot considering we both have jobs working evenings and most normal people work during the day.
I am so lucky to have such an amazing sister. She lets me use her washer and dryer every week, not only saving me $10 a week, but also allowing me to spend lots of time with my favorite niece and nephews. Seriously, my sister has the cutest kids in the universe, and I feel so blessed to be a part of their lives. (Don't tell Lisa, but I'm definitely the favorite aunt;) )
Sean finishes school in two short weeks and then gets almost 4 months off!!!! He works so hard and I am so proud of him. I feel pretty darn lucky to have met him :D With any luck, we'll know this time next year where he is going to grad school. 3 more years. With any luck, he'll be completely done in 3 years. That might seem like a long time, but when all is said and done, it's not too bad.
Okay. I'm finally done rambling. Sorry if you stayed to finish. I know my life isn't that exciting!!!
